October 1st is China's National Day — the country turns 77 this year, and the holiday runs 1–7 October. Along with Chinese New Year, it's one of the two long breaks in the Chinese calendar, and for anyone sourcing from China it's a week worth planning around.

The holiday is also a reminder of something simple: growth that lasts takes time. A birch tree takes decades to mature. A reliable supply chain takes years of doing the same thing properly. Some things simply can't be rushed — which is more or less what "sustainable" means to us.
